This is the collection of chess games I use for studying openings etc. The new version 3 contains more than 587000 chess games, most of them played in the last 8 years but also many games from the old masters. The game collection contains all recent major events up to January 2008. The zip file is 55MB big, so be prepared to wait a bit until the download finishes. It contains the chess games database in SCID format as well as a short description of the contents.
