I just stumbled upon this great website: Thinking Machine 4. At this site, you can play chess online against a computer - nothing special with that. What is really cool is the representation of the board. The pieces are just simple geometric blocks - no fancy 3D graphics here - but the visualization includes interfering waves radiating out from the pieces when it is your turn and "force" lines between pieces showing the "thinking" process of the computer while it calculates its move. Give it a try, it's fun to watch the tension between pieces become visible on the board while the computer evaluates the position!

BlueDevil: wow, your memory rivals Google! I first thought how come I did not see this before but the date explains it - 2004 is way before I started to get into chess.

And, yes, HTML rules. Or should rule in this case smilies/undecided.gif I went through some options of my comment system and html hyperrefs should be accepted now.

Hmmm...actually, that is before I started chess too! I don't know how I found out about it. I beg another blogger mentioned it, and then DG linked back.
